The renowned US author Morgan Jerkins will give this year's Erika Mann Lecture on 26 June at 7 pm in the Great Hall of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich.
Morgan Jerkins is an author, journalist, editor, filmmaker and lecturer. She publishes both novels and non-fiction books. Her latest work ‘Zeal’ (Harper, 2025) was listed as ‘Most Anticipated’ by Time and Publishers Weekly, among others. Twice honoured with the National Magazine Award and part of the Forbes 30 Under 30, she celebrated festival success with her short film ‘Black Madonna’ in New York, Los Angeles and at the Pan African Film & Arts Festival. She currently teaches creative writing at Princeton University.
In addition, the actress Wiebke Puls will read selected passages from Erika Mann's extensive oeuvre and give the audience insights into the author's fascinating work.
