To celebrate the anniversary year and inspire more readers to engage with Thomas Mann's works—whether discovering them for the first time or revisiting them—Marc has launched the digital Thomas Mann Book Club. The club is open to everyone, regardless of prior experience with Thomas Mann's literature. Each month in 2025, participants will explore one of his short stories, while every quarter, there will be a focus on one of his novels to allow ample reading time. Participation is flexible—members can choose which texts to read and at their own pace. Joining the book club is possible at any time, even for ongoing discussions.Selections for the readings are decided quarterly through group voting, balancing planning with flexibility.

The first works have already been chosen:

January: Death in Venice
February: Mario and the Magician
March: Tonio Kröger
January–March: Buddenbrooks

To foster deeper engagement, longer stories and novels will include weekly reading sections with discussions via chat. At the end of each reading, there will be a video conference for group discussion. All activities are optional.

Due to high participation, the discussions have been moved from Instagram to Discord for better organization. On Discord, members will find all necessary information and dedicated channels for each work. Interested participants can join via the following link: Join the Thomas Mann Book Club 2025 Discord Server!
